Local Tuya Control
We control your Tuya smart plugs, switches and bulbs directly on your network — no cloud round-trip. Faster response, full privacy, and it keeps working even when your internet is down.

Why local control matters
Instant response
Commands travel a few feet across your home network instead of to a server and back. Lights and plugs react the moment you ask.
Private by design
Device state never leaves your home. No third-party cloud account is required to turn on a light.
Works offline
Internet outage? Your automations keep running. Local control does not depend on the manufacturer’s servers being up.
How it works
- 1 We pull each device’s local key from your Tuya account once, during setup.
- 2 A tiny bridge service talks the Tuya local protocol straight to each device over your LAN.
- 3 Devices show up in Home Assistant automatically and respond instantly — no cloud in the loop.
For developers
We build and maintain the tooling behind this in the open. Both are C++ and track the Tuya local protocol (v3.1 / v3.3 / v3.4).
